Job Description

The DataCenter Connectivity Customer Enablement (DCCE) team is looking for a Network Software Engineer to enable and support customers of Intel's wired Ethernet products.

This position would focus on understanding and influencing the complex programmable pipeline for future silicon and adapters.

Would work closely with SW, HW, and FW development and validation to help assure that the highly configurable product line meets customer and internal needs for functionality and support.

 This role would require proactive support to customers through design of their product implementations in order to drive SW-related issues to closure.

This position will require a combination of working independently, with peers, design engineers, software engineers, and software architects to influence product reliability, supportability and ensure that customer needs and requirements are being addressed in a timely manner.

Complex issue debug, problem solving, multi-tasking, organization, and customer management skills while operating both independently and as part of the team are critical to success in this role.


Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science

6+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Driver development and/or support background in Open Source operating system RHEL, SuSE, FreeBSD, Ubuntu, etc.
  •  Direct customer interaction in technical debug support role.
  •  System level debug experience involving hardware, software, and firmware architecture.
  •  Ethernet networking architecture, protocols, topologies, and networking products - preferably with Intel wired Ethernet products.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • WireShark capture experience.
  • Device level firmware debug experience.
  • Experience in scripting with Perl and/or Python.
  • Experience with issue tracking applications helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with customers of all skill levels novice thru expert.
