Description

  • Develop electrical control system architectures for new custom industrial machines
  • Produce electrical schematics and BOM for a machine's electrical control system
  • Develop code for all electrical devices such as PLC, HMI, vision inspection, robots, servos, etc.
  • Assist in the physical build, wire, debug and commission of new machines
  • Support manufacturing with existing machines as well as specifying new machine requirements
  • Perform modifications to existing equipment
  • Implement technologies, systems and standards to improve cost, quality and manufacturing processes to assure high process capability for product manufacturing
  • Effectively work with operations staff, manufacturing/maintenance technicians, IT and product engineers in a cross-functional team environment
  • Contribute with technical knowledge during root-cause, failure-mode-analysis, problem solving and process improvement projects
  • Effectively read wiring diagrams and wire panels and machines

Required Skills

  • Experience designing ground-up electrical control systems for industrial manufacturing machines
  • Expert user Autocad 2010+ for electrical schematics
  • Expert programmer for Rockwell ControlLogix 5000 PLCs
  • Exposure to Cognex Insight Vision, Fanuc and Epson Robotics
  • Experience with Field I/O, servos, and Ethernet IP
  • Experience designing control systems using 24 VDC, 120/240/480 VAC
  • Experience with various devices including sensors, lasers, vision, AC/DC drives, pneumatics, linear and rotary servos, robots, etc.
  • Ability to function as an effective project manager, heading up multiple projects and coordinating with various departments within the company
  • Ability to effectively document projects and designs
  • Ability to design, build, wire, program and commission industrial control systems
  • Willing to innovate and develop/apply new technology for new and existing equipment
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills using various electrical meters, scopes and other test/diagnostic equipment
  • Hands-on experience wiring electrical panels and entire machines as well as basic shop tools
  • Experience with hydraulic systems and controls is highly desired.
