JOB DESCRIPTION:  Candidate should have a 4-yeardegree with 5 yrs. working experience preferable in the construction industry. Should be self-directed, analytical and able to complete tasks in a timely manner. Duties include record keeping and hands-on day to day oversight of accounting systems. Must be personable & have proven strong teamwork communication skills & can work closely with staff to oversee the accounting process. Will report to the owner about financial business operations with accurate accounting records and best practices for the accounting dept. that would support the owner's management decisions.

Job Requirements:

• Assist with the coordination and direction of the preparation of the budget and financial forecast and report variances

• Prepare and publish timely financial statements

• Review monthly progress reports for projects and cost projections

• Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies

• Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financialreporting

• Budgeting, forecasting, and analysis

• Knowledge of constructioncontracts

• Tax prep & planning - Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits and tax returns

• Maintain state registrations, business and tax licenses, etc.

• Legal case coordination

• Banking operations (deposits, account set ups, & maintenance)

• Insurance (general liability, worker's comp, auto, fire, umbrella, etc.)

• Environmental (policies, laws, willing to learn this aspect)

• Oversee financial operations including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll and cash flow management


• Minimum 5 years of overall combined accounting and financeexperience 

• Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures

• Knowledge of the construction industry

• Proven working experience in construction accounting (Preferred)

• Controller: 5 years (Required)

• Construction Industry: 3 years (Preferred)

• Accounting: 5 years (Required)

• Must be trustworthy

• Able to keep confidentiality/privacy

• Able to wear multiple hats

• Detailed and analytical

• Adaptable

Salary Range:

• $80,000+ or DOE per year

Educational Requirements: 


• Bachelor's (Required) in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
