The Membership Strategy team is the driver of one of the four major pillars of the Staples 20/20 strategic plan.  As a key member of this team, the Project Manager will be responsible for the holistic performance of paid membership customers from onboarding through renewals including driving incremental sales opportunities through exclusive merchant offers.  This person will work to ensure mid to large sized projects and/or initiatives are well organized and executed according to plan.  The Project Manager will partner with various individuals within and outside of Staples in order to accomplish goals and objectives

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive desired customer behavior of Premium and Select membership throughout customer lifecycle
  • Work with merchants to help drive innovative marketing opportunities to create impactful offers
  • Proactively identify and rectify inconsistencies within varied reporting on membership program
  • Identify and implement site, sales and marketing opportunities to drive program engagement
  • Outline, communicate and facilitate entire scope of projects with key deliverables, due dates, resources and dependencies;  manage the project plan
  • Create, enhance, run and distribute reporting on the success of existing and new membership activities
  • Balance time, resource and quality constraints to achieve business objectives
  • Ability to readjust direction as needed based on competing demands and shifting priorities
  • Holds other people accountable to overall project plan 
  • Write and speak with impact;  Express self effectively in one-on-one conversations and in small groups 
  • Adapt content and level of detail in written and spoken communications to meet audience’s

  • College degree or commensurate experience
  • 3-5  years supporting a sales, marketing or customer service organization or strong excel/analytical skills
  • Highly organized with an ability to simplify complicated ideas, processes or plans
  • Proficient in using PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Relate to people in an open, friendly and accepting manner>
